Lia is an internationally published and exhibited photographer, an actor, a multi-media content producer and an award-winning filmmaker. As the co-founder of Bev's Girl Films, she and her producing partner Garth Kravits create films that foster inclusion and diversity on both sides of the camera. BGF produces multi-media content for artists, actors, designers, theatrical productions, composers, musicians and corporations. Photographs by Lia Chang are in the permanent collections of New-York Historical Society, Lower East Side Tenement Museum, Angel Island Immigration Station, Edna McConnell Clark Foundation, Museum of Chinese in America (MOCA), the Japanese American National Museum (JANM), New York City Health and Hospitals Corporation Art Collection. The Lia Chang APA Theater Portfolio in the Asian Pacific American Performing Arts Collection is housed in the Library of Congress Asian Division's Asian Pacific American Islander Collection. She is the recipient of the AAJA 2001 National Award for New Media and the OCA 2000 Chinese American Journalist Award. Avenue Magazine named her one of the “One Hundred Most Influential Asian Americans”. She is featured in Joann Faung Jean Lee’s book Asian American actors: oral histories from stage, screen, and television.
